Маршрут / Visiting Rules

Entry to the cave

  • The average tour length is 45 minutes
  • The minimum number of visitors per tour is 4 people
  • The maximum number of visitors per tour is 25 people; any increase of this number must be approved by the operation dispatch manager.
  • Motorists, including bus drivers may only park in designated parking spaces.
  • Pre-booked groups have priority over other tourists. However, if a group fails to turn up at the cashier at least 10 minutes before the scheduled time, that group will lose its priority right to enter the cave.
  • After purchasing tickets, visitors should gather at the agreed time in front of the entrance to the cave.
  • Entry to the caves is organised by the tour guide according to the instructions of the dispatcher.

 Cave tours

  • Cave tours are possible only with the tour guide; entry to the cave without a tour guide is strictly prohibited.
  • School groups, groups of visitors, company trips, or visits organised by travel agencies must also provide their own tour guides.
  • If the cave operational department does not have a tour guide knowledgeable of the necessary language, the group leader must inform the group about the behavioural requirements and visitor obligations included in the Visitor’s Rules.
  • During the tour visitors are required to observe the instructions of the tour guide and requested not to disturb the narration.
  • In order to use a camera (including mobile phone cameras), you must purchase a permit together with your ticket. Without this permit, you are not allowed to take pictures or record videos. Pictures, films, or videos shot in the cave cannot be used for commercial purposes without the consent of the Cave Administration of the Czech Republic.
  • Visitors taking pictures or videos cannot leave the group, delay the tour, or restrict other visitors.
  • Take extra caution throughout the entire route, especially on stairs and when in narrow or low-ceilinged spaces.
  • Pay attention to the notifications issued by the tour guide.
  • Hold on to handrails installed in open areas.
  • Should any extraordinary event occur (for example, a power blackout), visitors must remain in one location, keep calm, and observe the instructions of the tour guide.
  • Visitors must report any injury or illness (including cases of nausea) during the tour to the tour guide, who shall ensure that the situation is handled properly.

Protection of nature and equipment

The caves are a part of a special area protected by law ČNR Nr.114/92 on the preservation of nature and natural landscapes. For this reason, all visitors must respect its requirements both on the surface and underground, must not damage natural phenomena (rock formations, tree species, plants etc.) and must only use paths open to the public. Breach of the preservation or damaging specially protected parts of nature is liable to a penalty of up to 50,000 CZK.

It is prohibited to:

  • touch, break, or damage stalactites, sinter deposits, cave walls, or any other cave formation, or to engrave or cut inscriptions to the cave walls;
  • enter areas outside the tour walkways or leave the guided group;
  • discard rubbish or otherwise contaminate the cave spaces;
  • bring large luggage, sporting equipment, hiking sticks, umbrellas, etc into the caves;
  • smoke, eat, or drink;
  • scare or otherwise threaten bats in caves;
  • bring or carry any animals into the cave;
  • touch electrical, safety, or other technical equipment;
  • take pictures or videos without paying the required fee.

Entry restrictions

  • People who are under the influence of alcohol are prohibited from entering the cave.
  • Children under 10 years of age unaccompanied by adults may not enter the cave.
  • Due to the demanding nature of the route entry is not recommended to children under the age of 3 or to people with health or heart problems!

Final provisions

  • Proper understanding and observance of the Visitor’s Rules is a necessary condition to entering the cave.
  • Should these rules be violated, the cave tour may be terminated prematurely and without reimbursement.
  • Should the Visitor’s Rules be seriously violated (especially if cave formations or equipment are damaged), civil or criminal prosecution will be initiated against the offender.
